When I first dreamed up NEST, I knew it would be more than a gathering space. It would be about people—their stories, their practices, their ways of moving through the world with care. Over time, certain connections have stayed with me, gradually shaping the direction of this work. One of those connections lives at the heart of what follows.
What you’re reading now is a gentle prelude to something I’ve been slowly nurturing into life: a series of mindful, reflective dialogues around creativity, healing, and human connection.
The first of these will be with a dear friend, a natural plant dyer and educator whose presence and practice have always inspired me. Time spent with her reminds me what it means to create slowly, with intention. To observe and to listen—to the seasons, to our senses, to what’s unfolding around and within us.
Together, we’ll explore:
– The importance of human connection and how it shapes creative journeys
– The rituals and small acts of care that anchor her work
– Intention in making, and how her practice has taught her to slow down
– Where she finds inspiration and how she tunes into the rhythm of the seasons
– The quiet wisdom of working with one’s hands, and how it fosters a deeper connection to nature and self
These are the themes I hold close within NEST and I’m honoured to begin this series with someone whose path so beautifully embodies them.
Our exchange is still forming, but I wanted to share this glimpse in the meantime—a few words, and soon, I hope, some reflections that hold the essence of her work.
Thank you for being here at the beginning.
Beautiful unfolding journey 🫶✨️🤍✨️
